Beautiful and delicate sterling silver cute Hawaiian Honu, sea turtle necklace. It is paired with an initial and birthstone to personalize the necklace. Hangs on a sterling silver chain. The sea turtle is 3/4" in size.
The Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles are known as Honu. They are symbols of good luck, wisdom, and Mana (or spiritual energy.) It is said that the green sea turtles can show up as a person’s guardian spirit, known as Aumakua.
Due to over-fishing, pollution, and habitat loss, sea turtles became nearly extinct. After being on the endangered species list for decades, the sea turtles have come back, making them a frequent sight in Hawaii again.
